Resurrecting My Blog...

For all of you who follow my blog, let me apologize for my lack of posting and blog-like-behavier. Of course, considering I haven't posted anything in almost a year, the odds of you reading this are probably pretty slim. Nevertheless, I ask for your forgiveness and for your recommitment to this page, and in turn, promise to update Madisisms on a more regular basis.

Also, if that isn't enough for you and you demand more, I will provide you with a gift. Use it wisely, it may help you fill your time with something in between my posts. I for one, have been entertained by this for many hours.

Your Welcome.

More posts to follow!

Chocolate Theory

Chocolate it yummy. It can also  teach us a thing or two. Now, to some of you, I've explained my Chocolate Theory, but for those who haven't heard it, this post is for you. The Chocolate Theory is sort of a take on life and decision making. Or anything else you want it to represent. Heck, it may be my theory, but it's your life right? And with that, I give you:

The Chocolate Theory

Dark Chocolate

Something people either really like or don't like at all. I am in that second group of people. Dark Chocolate is strange to me. Too bitter, just makes my taste buds frown.  Some people say its healthier, or that its better because it isn't as sweet, but it just leaves me so unsatisfied. The main issue I have with Dark Chocolate, is that I eat it, and I think "Bleh, this really isn't very good, why did I just eat that?" I also tell myself, "Okay Madison, lets get one thing straight: You Dislike Dark Chocolate!" This usually keeps me at bay... for a while. But as time passes, the thought creeps into my mind, "Hey, Dark chocolate isn't thaaaaat bad. In fact, it's pretty good, and most people would say its delicious. Come on, lets give it another chance." And, I do. And, as every other time, it leaves me disappointed. This happens repeatedly, and still goes on today. But no matter how many times I eat it and don't like it, I keep coming back to dark chocolate, trying to convince myself that it is good, or that it will be different this time.

But I know it won't be different. The same thing will happen. Eat, disappointment, leave it alone, give in, second chance (or third, or fourth, or fifth), disappointment. The cycle will just keep repeating itself.

I encourage you, and myself, to stay away from the dark chocolate things in life. Whether that may be an activity, a relationship, or whatever else comes your way. You know what I'm talking about, the things in life that you keep giving chances to, but in the end are left unsatisfied.

---

White Chocolate

I absolutely love white chocolate. I think its wonderful. Other people may not care for it, but I thoroughly enjoy it. But, you see, I'll eat it without stopping until I'm sick. This is a problem. No self control when it comes to white chocolate. You may also recognize this type of situation in your life. Where there's something you're convinced you love so much, but ends up making you "sick", and kind of ruins it for you. So I caution you about the White Chocolate situations you may come across. The answer is simple: Portion Size.

Milk Chocolate

Milk chocolate: the solid staple to my theory. Milk chocolate is always there, always something to fall back on. It may not be as appealing as white chocolate, but there's no denying that its GOOD. It's sweet, without being on overkill. It's there as comfort in the lowest of times, and there as a reward in the highest of times. It also helps you strive to achieve goals, to help you become a better you. Of course, too much "togetherness" time and it might become a bit of a nuisance, but nevertheless, you love it.

And that leaves me with the Milk Chocolate things in life. Something or someone that's always there for you, to help, to comfort, to reward. Just the right balance for what you personally need.

But how do we determine what in life falls under these three categories? Lets face it, Life doesn't look like this:

Life looks more like this:

But the more you recognize the dark, white, and milk chocolate, the easier it gets to tell which is which.

LAB #5

Life with Absence of Brother #5

Since my brother has been gone, I've felt like a single parent.

---

"Dad, behave yourself, we're in a public restaurant."

"Mom, please act your age."

"Mom, you need to read big people books, not books written for 5th graders."

"Dad, if you want mini doughnuts you need to buy them yourself."

"Mom, just because it happens in House or Grey's Anatomy, doesn't mean it happens in real life."

"No Dad, I can't come watch TV right now, I'm working."

"Mom, you need to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road."

"Mom, Dad, we can't eat out every night."

I love my parents, but sometimes I have to have these sort of conversations with them. My brother needs to come home soon.

LAB #4

What else have a noticed about the change in home life without my brother here? Well, dinner is a LOT more boring, that's for sure. I have to find ways to entertain myself...

(And if you can't tell, those are a variety of smiley faces around the edge of the plate.)

LAB #3

Maybe now I can wear the blue helmet...

(And if you're wondering, I believe the helmets were involved because Bailey or Kylie Alldredge was driving.)
Brace yourselves people, more LABS to come.

LAB (LIFE with ABSENSE of BROTHER) Entries 1 & 2

(From my Facebook status)

How has life changed since my brother Logan went back to college? Well, for starters:

1) I don't have to carry a Nerf Gun with me from my room to the bathroom anymore...

2) Looking at your Nerf Gun for the first time since he left, and realizing he took ALL of your darts.
